A Creative, Emotional, and Joyful Day with Theater Royalty
We recently had the honor of photographing a wedding that felt straight out of a movie—held at AvantGarden, one of Houston’s coolest and most iconic venues. Right in the heart of Montrose, this spot is full of personality, with lush garden corners, colorful murals, and tons of local history. Fun fact: even Houston legend Howard Hughes spent time here as a kid visiting family friends! This wedding was something special. The bride—an incredibly talented actress known for her roles at Alley Theatre and Theater Under the Stars—married her equally amazing partner in front of a crowd filled with close friends, family, and fellow creatives from Houston’s theater scene. You could feel the love and support in the air, and it made the whole day even more magical. They brought the star power, for sure—she looked absolutely radiant, and he was all smiles the entire time.
From Vows to Portraits: A Day Full of Heart and Style
Their ceremony was heartfelt and full of joy, and the whole vibe of the day was warm, personal, and full of creative energy. You could tell how much these two mean to their community. As photographers, we were thrilled to capture all the big and little moments—from the emotional vows and happy tears to the laughter and cheering during the first kiss. Avant Garden's eclectic style made the perfect setting for portraits: vibrant murals, cozy garden corners, and that unique artsy charm that feels so Houston. This wedding wasn’t just about two people starting a life together—it was about honoring creativity, chosen family, and the magic that happens when love and art come together.
