A Fashion Forward Engagement Session Surrounded by Art
This engagement session at Menil Park in Houston was such a perfect reflection of this couple. They both work in design, so they wanted their photos to feel artistic, modern, and effortless rather than overly posed. The bride looked amazing in a white pantsuit, while the groom kept things relaxed in a white shirt and black sweater. Their outfits were simple and sophisticated, and they fit perfectly with the clean architecture and timeless design throughout the Menil campus. We started near the Menil Collection, where the clean lines of the building and soft natural light created the perfect setting for relaxed, editorial style portraits. The minimalist architecture gave the photos a modern feel while keeping the focus completely on the couple.
From the Drawing Institute to Rothko Chapel
From there, we wandered over to the Drawing Institute, taking our time and exploring the surrounding spaces. We stopped under a gorgeous old live oak, where the huge branches added a little Houston charm and a touch of drama to the portraits. There is something special about photographing couples in places surrounded by art and thoughtful design. The Menil area has such a quiet beauty, and it gave us the perfect combination of architecture, nature, and creativity for this engagement session.
