An Intimate Wedding in the Texas Hill Country
This winter wedding at a private house in Washington, TX was such a beautiful reminder that a wedding doesn’t have to be big to feel incredibly special. Planned during COVID, the celebration was intentionally kept small, with only the couple’s closest family and friends joining them at the private property. We started the day with bridal preparations, capturing all the little moments before the ceremony. Of course, we had to have a little fun with the dress too, placing it by the pool for photos. The ceremony took place up on the hill beneath a beautiful old live oak tree. With the Texas landscape stretching around them and their closest people gathered nearby, it felt incredibly intimate and emotional. Their vows were touching, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the group.
Nighttime Portraits, Dancing, and a Sparkler Exit
After the ceremony, we took the couple out for some nighttime portraits around the property. The quiet winter evening and open Texas landscape gave us the perfect opportunity to create some romantic portraits before heading back to the reception. And the reception was anything but quiet! There was plenty of dancing, heartfelt toasts, hilarious games, and lots of laughter. Everyone seemed completely relaxed and just happy to finally be together celebrating. It was one of those intimate weddings where you could really feel how close everyone was. We ended the night with a fun sparkler exit. The newlyweds climbed into their getaway car, which had been decorated by their friends, and headed off surrounded by sparklers, cheers, and lots of happy faces. A small winter wedding, a private Texas ranch, an old oak tree, and the people who mattered most. It was such a beautiful way to celebrate love during an unusual time.
