A Relaxed April Afternoon at Memorial Park
This Memorial Park engagement session was such a fun one. We met on a chill April day when Houston was looking especially beautiful, and I loved the couple’s casual, light colored outfits. They looked effortlessly chic and perfectly suited to the relaxed feel of the session. We started at the Eastern Glades, taking our time to explore the park and capture some easygoing portraits along the way. There was no need to rush or overthink anything. These two were simply enjoying each other, walking, laughing, and soaking up the beautiful spring afternoon. From there, we made our way around Hines Lake, one of the prettiest spots in Memorial Park. The lake, surrounding boardwalks, and accessible piers gave us plenty of opportunities for natural and romantic portraits.
Sunset, New Tunnels, and a Texas Sky
As we continued exploring, we stopped for photos with the new tunnels in the background, adding a more modern architectural feel to the gallery. We also made our way to the structural stairway known as the Emily Clay Family Scramble, which gave us another completely different look. By then, we were getting very close to sunset, and the light was getting better by the minute. And then Houston decided to put on a show. The Texas sky was absolutely incredible, with that beautiful evening glow stretching across the park. We ended the session in the warm sunset light, capturing some of our favorite portraits of the day. I love engagement sessions like this because they don't have to feel overly planned or formal. A beautiful park, great outfits, gorgeous light, and two people who genuinely enjoy being together are really all you need.
