When Plans Change, You Just Go With It
This 1910 Historic Courthouse elopement in downtown Houston was a perfect example of how sometimes the best wedding days are the ones that don't go exactly according to plan. The couple originally planned to have their ceremony inside the historic courthouse, but when we arrived that morning, the courthouse was in session. So, we had to make a quick change of plans and move the ceremony outside to the beautiful courthouse steps. Luckily, we had already taken some photos inside the courthouse before heading outside, so the couple still got to enjoy some portraits surrounded by the historic architecture and beautiful details of the building. And honestly, the weather could not have been better! The sunny late April day made the outdoor ceremony feel relaxed, bright, and full of energy.
A Beautiful Summer Look and Downtown Houston Portraits
The ceremony on the courthouse steps was sweet, fun, and full of personality. After the vows, we gathered the family for portraits before taking some time to explore the courthouse grounds and nearby downtown streets with the newlyweds. The bride looked absolutely gorgeous in her beautiful summer wedding dress, paired with an amazing bouquet of calla lilies. Callas are having such a moment right now, and this bouquet was the perfect modern touch to her elegant bridal look. We walked around the courthouse and surrounding streets, capturing a mix of classic portraits and more relaxed moments between the two of them. The historic architecture, city streets, and beautiful spring light gave us plenty of variety.
