Rain, Thunder, and a Grand Wedding Ceremony
This wedding day had everything from rain and thunder to bright sunshine and classic Houston summer heat. We started at the JW Marriott Houston by The Galleria, where the bride and her bridesmaids were getting ready. The morning was full of fun details and plenty of personality. We started with beautiful flat lay photos, followed by group portraits with the girls. Then came two very sweet first looks: one with her bridesmaids and another with her father. There were definitely some emotional moments mixed in with all the laughter. By the time we arrived at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, the weather had completely changed. Thunder was rolling, rain was coming down, and the dark sky created an incredibly dramatic atmosphere around the church. Honestly, it felt pretty epic. Inside, the ceremony was grand, beautiful, and deeply meaningful. Afterward, we took some portraits around the church before heading to the next part of the celebration.
From Dramatic Storm Clouds to a Houston Summer Party
By the time we arrived at The Bell Tower on 34th, Houston had apparently decided the storm was over. The sun was out, the sky was bright, and the summer heat was back in full force! We took advantage of the venue's gorgeous galleries for portraits before giving everyone a little break from the heat. The elegant architecture and beautiful interiors made it easy to create romantic portraits without spending too much time outside. Then it was time for the grand entrance and the party. And what a party it was! The dance floor stayed busy, the energy was high, and there were enough inside jokes between this group to keep everyone laughing all night. Some weddings are elegant and quiet. This one was elegant with a healthy dose of chaos and a whole lot of fun. After plenty of dancing and celebrating, it was finally time for the send-off. The newlyweds climbed into an Uber XL and headed off into the night. Not every wedding getaway needs a vintage car or limousine. Sometimes an Uber XL is exactly what you need after a very long day of celebrating!
From thunder and rain at the church to sunshine, dancing, inside jokes, and a very practical getaway car, this Houston wedding was full of personality from beginning to end.
