A Historic Venue Filled with Golden Hour Romance
When a dancer marries a sailor, you just know the wedding is going to be something special—and this one did not disappoint! We had the absolute joy of capturing Morgan and James’ wedding day at the beautiful and historic 1859 Ashton Villa in Galveston, TX, and it was filled with personality, surprises, and so much love. The ceremony took place outside on the villa’s lush grounds, with the warm golden-hour light making everything feel extra magical. It was romantic, heartfelt, and picture-perfect—the kind of moment every photographer dreams of.

Sword Cake Cutting & A Flash Mob First Dance
But the fun really kicked off at the reception. First surprise? The cake cutting—with a sword! The groom, in true sailor fashion, brought out a ceremonial sword and sliced into the cake like a pro. Guests were cheering and totally loving the dramatic flair. Then came the flash mob. Yep, you read that right. The newlyweds and their crew broke out into a surprise choreographed dance, and it was epic. From that point on, the dance floor stayed packed and the energy never dipped. We ended the night with some night portraits and their classic car exit—so timeless and cool. Every part of this wedding was uniquely them, and we were so honored to be part of it.
