Old World Charm in the Heart of Houston
There is something so much fun about a bridal portrait session, especially when the venue is as beautiful as The Bell Tower on 34th. With its old world Mediterranean architecture inspired by grand Italian villas and Spanish haciendas, the venue has so much character and so many beautiful spaces to explore. It was one of those Houston-hot days outside, so choosing the wedding venue for the bridal portraits was a perfect decision. The Bell Tower gave us plenty of gorgeous indoor spaces where we could stay comfortable while still creating a huge variety of portraits. I absolutely love bridal sessions because we get time to slow down and really play with the space. I can guide the bride through different poses, help with the dress, veil, and train, and find the best angles and light without feeling rushed.
A Dramatic Veil, a Gorgeous Staircase, and a Little Sunshine
One of my favorite moments from this session was photographing the bride on the grand staircase. Her epic veil and long train flowed beautifully down the stairs, creating one of those dramatic bridal portraits that feels straight out of a fashion editorial. We moved through different areas of the venue, taking advantage of the elegant architecture, textured walls, beautiful details, and soft indoor light. Every space had its own personality, which made it easy to create a gallery with lots of variety. Later, we ventured outside for just a little while to catch some airy portraits in the sunshine. The contrast between the cool, elegant interiors and the bright outdoor light gave the gallery a beautiful mix of moods. And that's exactly why we love bridal portraits. There is time to experiment, have fun, adjust the dress, play with the veil, and create images that really celebrate the bride.
