Other Than Wedding Photography

We are often asked if apart from weddings and engagements we do family portraits, baby photos or birthday events. It feels like the answer should be - “yes”, because we can photograph pretty much anything. 

When asked that, I find myself thinking - it’s just one hour and it’s kind of like any session, right? But the truth is - it is not. I guess I am a kind of photographer who internalizes every wedding, it is my monologue, my song. I do love weddings because they are so unique, they are a beginning of everything, they make you feel almost invincible, when everything is possible and the world opens its arms to you, but mostly they are the promise of happily ever after. 

Witnessing that and going through those emotions as a photographer is probably my favorite part, it changes and shapes me as a person, it changes and shapes me as a photographer, and I try to be better. So as much as I want to say yes, I feel like if I do, I can loose my focus on shaping my skill of becoming better wedding photographer, because it really takes all of me.

But please do ask us for recommendations whether it’s maternity, baby or family photos! There are amazing photographers out there who are super pro in these types of photography and we will give you a great referral! Soft Light, Downtown Energy, and a Wedding Day Made for the Lens

We’re so honored to have one of our weddings featured in the Fall/Winter 2022 edition of Brides of Houston—a true highlight for us as wedding photographers.

The day started at The Oak Atelier in Conroe, where the ceremony took place inside the venue’s stunning glasshouse. The clean white frame and soft natural light gave everything a dreamy, cinematic feel—absolutely ideal for portraits. The bride’s gown flowed beautifully, and her bold red bouquet popped perfectly against the soft setting. After the ceremony, we headed downtown to Ronin 2, where the couple hosted a stylish reception full of warmth, laughter, and dancing. The industrial space gave us a totally different energy to capture—urban, moody, and full of life.

A Photographer That Commits

A long time ago in a far away galaxy creating a single photographic image was a precious event. In a world with no camera phones, no digital cameras full stop, the act of taking a photograph was a precious event where the photographer had to always discern wisely when exactly to engage that shutter and capture something special.

Back then using film cameras meant you wouldn’t receive hundreds and hundreds of photographs from your wedding photographer, but a few much more valuable precious moments captured and curated carefully. The digital sphere has changed all that, we snap photos hundreds of times a day without even thinking about it. Everyone has access to a good digital camera nowadays, but the camera does not make the photographer.

You certainly have put a lot of thought to your wedding, so don’t let a careless photographer capture all your hard work. Find someone that takes photos like it's 1965, someone that wisely and judiciously seeks the perfect moment, the perfect light, someone who commits.
